Party at the Shops 15 March 2014

Although the prediction was for some mid-afternoon rain only a very short-lived light rain shower occurred and fortunately this was at the end the bush dancers’ performance so it did not really mar the proceedings.

Many children came along to participate in the games and competitions and it seems face painting as well as the face painters were fully engaged from 2pm to well past 6pm.

The bush dancers put on a colourful and lively performance and much to the horror of some Hackett residents they were asked to join in. The tuition was obviously effective as the Hackett residents seemed to take the dancing with aplomb.

The day finished off with some great music from Queen Juanita and her Zydeco Cowboys. Many children joined in with dancing and a number of very skilled swing dances took advantage of the occasion to finesse their skills. A number of other less skilled dancers were inspired by the swing dancers and joined in.
